BBC special on the spiritual fraud, self proclaimed god in human form, Shri Sathya Sai Baba.
This special has a large emphasis on the allegations of pedophilia and sexual abuse against Sai Baba by some of his ex devotees. It also reveals some of his painfully obvious conjuring techniques used to show he is, indeed, a god . |

"Born into Brothels" is one of those movies that puts one's life into perspective. The film focuses on the red light district of Calcutta, chronicling the lives of the children of sex workers. Co-writer/director Zana Briski is a photographer who went to Calcutta to photograph the lives of the prostitutes, but in time becomes very close to their children.
The documentary centers around a project in which Briski taught the children photography. She uses this as a starting point, trying to get them interested in their futures and trying to give them a way to escape the circle of sex, drugs and self-destruction that they are caught in. |

Why take on such a seemingly impossible mission? Simple-he wants to make the world safe for his soon to be born child. ABOUT STEVE IRWIN - The "Crocodile Hunter" Stephen Robert Irwin (February 22, 1962 – September 4, 2006), known simply as Steve Irwin, nicknamed "The Crocodile Hunter", was an iconic Australian television personality, wildlife expert, and conservationist. On September 4, 2006, the international community mourned the premature loss of animal expert and conservationist Steve Irwin who hosted Animal Planet’s “The Crocodile Hunter” since October 1996. The world was stunned and the outpouring of condolences was immeasurable. Irwin touched so many lives — adults and children alike — and his impact on conservation efforts worldwide will last for years to come. On Sunday, 21 January 2007 from 8 to 10 p.m. (ET/PT), Discovery Channel and Animal Planet simultaneously broadcast a two-hour television tribute in honour of Irwin's legacy including the premiere of his last television documentary, Ocean's Deadliest. Steve Irwin was Born in Essendon, Victoria, Australia in 1962 who died while filming Ocean’s Deadliest. He was killed when a stingray barb fatally pierced his heart last September 4. After Irwin’s death, thousands of people left mementos and flowers at the Australia Zoo in Queensland, where Irwins’s “Crocoseum” served as the site of a Sept 20 memorial service to respect this Crocodile Hunter. Irwin had left his family, his friends, and others but his spirit, his enthusiasm and his passion towards wildlife will remain forever in many people’s hearts. DOCUMENTARY INFO Ocean’s Deadliest, a 90-minute documentary featuring some of the most dangerous residents off Australia’s coast, was simultaneously telecast on Animal Planet and Discovery Channel in the United States on 21 January 2007. Following Ocean’s Deadliest is a half-hour programme that honours Irwin. The tribute includes previously unaired footage and also a little more personal details on Irwin. Lurking only a few feet below the surface of eastern Australia's crystalline ocean are some of the most dangerous animals on the planet. For thousands of years, venomous snakes, saltwater crocodiles and immense sharks have patrolled these waters. Now, in the hope of studying nature's most dangerous creations, two adventurers of legendary reputation and pedigree embark on an epic mission that requires leadership of an experienced, knowledgeable and fearless crew. Irwin is joined by explorer and adventurer Philippe Cousteau , grandson of the famous oceanographer Jacques Cousteau, in Ocean's Deadliest as they explore the waters between Australia's Gold Coast and the Great Barrier Reef. Throughout this expedition, Philippe and Steve come face to face with venomous fish, huge great white sharks and amazing saltwater crocodiles as they search for the region's most dangerous animal. Along the way, they will meet the scientific experts who work with these creatures on a regular basis, learning the reason why they have evolved with such dangerous defenses and also learning that, in truth, they fill a role in the overall ecosystem that is vital and cannot be overlooked. Their adventure features amazing and breathtaking moments, including subduing a giant croc in order to attach a satellite tracking device; observing the feeding behavior of the great white shark while safely tucked away inside a dive cage and working with the Australian experts who capture deadly sea snakes in order to supply anti-venom to the rest of the world. Cousteau, who was aboard Croc One with Irwin during the expedition when he was struck and killed by a stingray, narrates the 90-minute documentary. Ocean’s Deadliest does not refer to Irwin’s death until its closing shot... a still photo of Irwin, smiling broadly, and the words “In Memory of Steve Irwin”. |
